I too completely fail to understand how WoW is better than GW, especially with people complaining about GW supposedly no longer catering to casual players. You guys do realize what kind of gameplay WoW is most heavy on, right?

They think they're helping casual players, but, none of the actual casual players are here. Mainly because.. they're casual

I'd say on-par. That's saying a lot since WoW is a PvE balanced game. They're both great fun, though.

Probably, although I consider myself casual

I do hear a lot of ruckus however, in the name of casual players, being brought forth by people who are anything but. It amuses me.

TBH, like ripskin I dont really see this mentallity maybe as much as others do. I pvp a decent amount and keep current with the meta in most different types. With the exception of gimmicky crap in HA and RA/TA.. most pvp seems to be pretty skill reliant. GvG for example.. the top teams ussually arent winning because of gimmick crap, its because of balance, skill and teamwork.

When I stopped playing WoW (~year ago) PvP was largely based on gear, you running around on your own etc etc. Specing out your character was even more cookie cutter than alot of GW builds if you wanted to have a good set up.

Explain to me how a system that was set up for PvP is worse than a system that is 'balanced' for PvE (and I will question how it is balanced.. I seem to remember alot of whining about certain classes in WoW)

I don't see any problem with the current state of pvp, but someone has to whine about something. Always.

Arena is a considerably enjoyable arena, mostly in 3v3-5v5. 2v2 is about as annoying as RA. Also in WoW, the skill is more about in how you play, not what your build is.

Refer to thread 2579382579.

Keep in mind that Blizz *does* balance PvP, but they have to be more careful because unlike GW, they can't be as careless to how the balances affect PvE*.

And people whine about losing to other classes because most people forget the fact that WoW PvP is balanced around teamplay.

*This isn't a bad thing. There is a much broader skill choice in GW than in WoW.

If you haven't been playing WoW for the past year u probably don't know about Arena. You should give it a try before condemning WoW's PvP.

Pretty sad when WoW PvP beats GW (Something that used to promote Skill > Grind).

Indeed. And I haven't even played games similar to those I voted for.

Go StarCraft II though. ^^

I meant Guild Wars. Remember the little sales slogan they pitched back in beta/prophecies? Skill over grind? Whatever happened to that? In WoW, you knew there was grind but who would've thought that WoW PvP (something that was pretty much tacked on) would be more interesting than Guild Wars. (A game that was designed for PvP)

I'll leave it at that.

GW1 pvp feels too static.

WoW pvp is frustratingly imba. little kids named "Oo Goku Oo" or "Naruto III I" with no lives and nothing else to do can outgear/level you easy as that.

im hoping GW2 is less stuck down to the ground like gw1. i think interactiveness with the environment will make all the difference. anet was right, by now, they really do have all the ideas to make the ultimate guildwars / mmo.

Hahaha this thread got owned.

Btw, I voted Warhammer #1. It'll be a far better PvP game than GW is at the moment.
